Tessera's SHELLCASE Technology Shipped in One Billion Image Sensors

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 26, 2009--Tessera Technologies, Inc.'s (Nasdaq:TSRA) SHELLCASE(R) wafer-level chip-scale packaging (CSP) technology has shipped in more than one billion image sensors. The innovative technology enables low-cost, highly reliable, small form factor image sensors, making it an ideal solution for camera-enabled mobile devices such as cell phones and PDAs.

Tessera's SHELLCASE MVP solution, which is one of the industry's first Through Silicon Via (TSV) solutions, enables OEMs and camera module manufacturers to utilize image sensor wafers without requiring any chip design modification, providing additional time and cost savings.
